ASKING GOD TO ACCEPT OUR PRAYERS
June 18, 2024
The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
Psalm 6:9 (NIV)
Going a little farther,
Jesus fell with His face to the ground
And prayed, “My Father, if it is possible,
May this cup be taken away from me.
Yet not as I will, but as You will.”
Matthew 26:39 (NIV)
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:26 (NIV)
Our Father Who art in Heaven and in my heart, Hallowed be Thy Name, the God Who Accepts My Prayer for Mercy. O Lord, in the Greek, tᵉḥinnâ, can be translated as accepts as in marrying a wife. Wow, this places a whole new emphasis on praying, Father. For in my weeping, I know my prayers to You are not just being heard, they are being faithfully considered, and held closely, as precious to You. Just as You heard Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, I want to pray for Your will to be done, and if possible, may Your will be to relieve me of my fear of the unknown, and to accept me, as betrothed to Your Son. Hallelujah!
Forgive me, Father, for never fully appreciating Your willingness to not only hear my prayers, but also to accept them as belonging to You. You do not discard my prayers, after hearing and answering them, for like Jesus in the garden, I am vulnerable to the world’s evil ways. I thank You, Lord that my spirit is one with Yours. I cannot be separated from Your love and Your longing as You answer my cry for mercy. Hallelujah!
For those praying with me, I am reminded again about the Lord’s urging that we pray to His Spirit through ours. We have the Holy Spirit within us, and so it makes perfect sense that our spirit should communicate with His. Your cries for mercy when you are hurting, are coming from your soul and are not taken lightly by Your Father. Just as David prayed, and received assurance, as you communicate with Your Heavenly Father in the Spirit you will also be assured. Someone who is not saved, does not have such Holy access as you do. Rejoice in this revelation, that the Lord hears your prayers, and finds them precious in His sight. He will answer with the same sincerity that you offer them. Hallelujah!
I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ, the God Who Accepts My Prayers for Mercy. Amen and Amen.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)
