IS YOUR LIFE A BLESSING OR A CURSE?
May 8, 2023
Help me, Lord my God;
save me according to your unfailing love.
Let them know that it is your hand,
that you, Lord, have done it. Psalm 108: 26-27 (NIV)
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:28 (NIV)
Our Father Who art in Heaven and in my heart, Hallowed be Thy Name, the God Whose Word is a Curse to Many and a Blessing to a Few. O Lord, You sent Your Son, Jesus, to earth to redeem us from the curse of the law. And thus, He willingly became the curse for us that we might become a blessing to His Father. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
Forgive me, Father, for not standing up for You when I hear Your Name taken in vain. Forgive me, for contributing to the vitriol that spews from the mouths of the mindless. Why should I join them, when I know the Truth and the Truth has set me free? For this is the Truth: Jesus Christ, became poor for my sake, so that through His suffering and loss, I might become rich in His grace, and overflowing with His mercy. These are the Words that bless me, Father. May those around me see that it is Your hand that saves me, and Your Word that defends me against those who are cursing. Hallelujah!
For those praying with me, have you noticed how accusing words, and cursing, have taken center stage, even in international circles? Words are the new kindling on the fire in the homeless camp. Cursing is the new plan in the protest. For Jesus knew well that what comes out of a person’s mouth either elevates them or defiles them. There is no need to join the fray, for Jesus became the curse, that we might receive the Holy Words of His Father, and be comforted and saved. Hallelujah!
I pray this in the Name of Jesus Christ, the God Whose Word is a Curse to Many and a Blessing to a Few. Amen and Amen.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that though he was rich, yet for your sake
he became poor, so that you through his poverty
might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NIV)
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” Galatians 3:13 (NIV)
As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Proverbs 26: 2-4 (NIV)
How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? Numbers 23:8 (KJV)
